Accommodation
Thornton Hall was home to the Bamford family, Liverpool shipping magnates. Surrounded by stunning gardens, this beautiful 4* hotel was built in the mid-1800s and rests in the pretty village of Thornton Hough.
The rooms are all fitted with beverage trays, trouser press, satellite TVs, direct telephones and internet access is available. If you choose to upgrade, you can enjoy balconies or patios, gorgeous views and many special extras such as a fruit bowl and complimentary slippers. Local Knowledge
Ness Botanic Gardens come highly recommended. If you are looking for history you need to see the oldest standing building on Merseyside - The Benedictine Monastery which dates back to 1150. For the adventurous you should head to Jungle Parc where you can climb and swing through the trees.
