Spa and Leisure Facilities
The 5* Scotsman Hotel was originally the Scotsman newspaper’s quarters. Built in 1899, this charming property has been expertly restored with a great respect for the original features. Old and new fuse together and the result is something quite special.
Within this remarkable hotel there is a well renowned The Scotsman Spa & Health Club with seven treatment rooms and the very best spa facilities. Take a step closer to paradise as you swim in the large stainless steel pool, shimmering with laser lights, and unwind in the sauna, steam room, solarium, spa pool and relaxation area.
The Spa uses Thalgo for facials, spa rituals, body wraps and men’s treatments. Scientifically proven, Thalgo is the expert in Marine Cosmetology and Spa Therapies. Their expertise harnesses the powerful riches of the sea; oligo-elements, amino acids, proteins, and vitamins.
There is a spacious aerobics studio and gym with cardio and resistance equipment and TVs.

Spa Insider's Recommended Treatment
Take time out to immerse yourself in a relaxing top-to-toe spa ritual that is a true entree into the fabulous range of Thalgo marine beauty. Begin with a purifying facial tailored to your skin type – allow the therapist to treat the skin with milks and melting lotions, soft cleansing brushes and warm scented oshiboris. As your mind drifts away from the stresses of the day, the body will unwind during a marine inspired massage over the back of the body. Like gently falling waves, the movements will allow you to drift into the marine world. Remineralising sea salts and algae petals are placed onto the body using a warmed compress, to ease tensions. To follow is a warm, bubbly mousse mask, which is applied to the back, neck and shoulders. While you drift away, pressure points are incorporated into a foot massage – just heavenly!
