The Best Western Ardsley House Hotel is the former home of one of south Yorkshire’s most prominent families – the Micklethwaites, associated with Yorkshire for over six centuries. In contrast to many Barnsley hotels, Ardsley House was built in the late 18th century, now greatly extended and modernised the imposing building still retains many original Georgian features in its accommodation and public areas.
The hotel is conveniently located just 15 minutes drive from the M1 and has an extensive free car park for guests of the hotel
The Ardsley House Hotel, Barnsley makes an excellent base for exploring south Yorkshire and the beautiful Pennine hill countryside including picturesque secluded wooded valleys. Many such locations were recently used for filming Emmerdale, Last of the Summer Wine and Heartbeat.
The hotel has a superb indoor leisure club with heated pool, spa pool, steam room, solarium and saunas. There is a well-equipped gymnasium for the more active with fully trained staff always on hand who will be delighted to advise you.
