The way to describe the spa at Hoole Hall is ‘cool’. The interiors are characterised by slate grey and stone coloured walls all set about in a clean, linear fashion, while the facilities embody all the features of the modern spa experience: there is a gym complete with exercise classes, indoor and outdoor pools, a thermal suite – that is to say a journey through hydrotherapy pools and fountains – a veritable feast of temperature changes, and a mud rasul. There are 14 treatment rooms as well as a couple’s treatment room with its own sunken bath and sauna, where therapists use Anne Semonin Paris and Pevonia products to deliver a range of massages, manicures, pedicures, facials and finishing touches.

A converted 18th century manor house surrounded by 12 acres of landscaped gardens, Hoole Hall balances the individuality of a boutique venue with the service of an international brand. The interiors of the hotel contrast with the period architecture – 140 rooms are ultra modern, extremely light and accented with streaks of primary colours against an otherwise neutral palette.

Catering to a range of palettes and predispositions, there is a selection of dining options – a Brasserie and Lounge Bar serve light bites and aperitifs; as well as the pièce de résistance – the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar and Grill – where, as you might expect, you are well advised to book in advance.
