Spa & Leisure
Being right next to the sea, the Real Spa Marine & Health Club at Villa Italia embraces the oceanic vibe with a Thalasso spa (that is to say one that uses natural elements, specifically marine resources including sea water, seaweed, and mud to restore the skin aided by 35 and 37º C temperatures). Not only that, but facilities also include a gym, relaxation area, hammam, sauna, Jacuzzi, ice fountain, jet shower, and a Vichy shower.
Of course, the spa would not be complete without some particularly decadent treatments to match, so putting the six treatment rooms to good use the spa offers facials, massages, Prestige rituals, an affusion shower (a massage under sea rain), as well as reflexology, shiatsu, osteopathy, and beauty treatments … which adds up to a pretty all-encompassing range with something for everyone.

Hotel & Accommodation
Formerly the home of Italian exile King Umberto II, this regal villa is quite literally over the road from the beach in the cosmopolitan town of Cascais. As you might expect from a luxury resort on the coast, the rooms take in views of the Atlantic Ocean, which can also be contemplated from the pool, the restaurant, the terraces … you get the picture. The interiors are modern, but reflect the building’s elaborate past with marble floors and large windows juxtaposed with densely textured fabrics and detailed furnishings.
When the climate and location are as beautiful as this, it is only fitting that there is a restaurant on the terrace where the La Terraza Restaurant-Bar serves a heady mix of tapas and cocktails, while the fine dining Belvedere Restaurant showcases the best of Portuguese cuisine in an opulent monochrome environment.
