The leafy surroundings of Macdonald Houstoun House provide the perfect setting for a relaxing spa break. A host of bespoke beauty and spa treatments are offered within the Vital Health and Wellbeing Club, all guaranteed to leave you refreshed and feeling new again. Those seeking to be a little more active during their stay can experience the clay tennis court which is located within the hotel’s beautiful walled garden.
However if, like me, your spa break is a sit back and be pampered affair then you can while away your time within the large indoor swimming pool and sauna. The hotel also benefits from a fully equipped gym which is the perfect place to burn off a few of the lovely tea cakes which I enjoyed when I last stayed here!
Hotel & Accommodation
With a history dating back to the 1600’s the hotel is full of charm and period features. With a host of rooms available including some stunning Feature Rooms you really do feel like you are on a very special spa break. With views over the walled garden and even the opportunity to enjoy a four poster bed, it’s easy to see why these rooms are so popular!
Although the rooms are rather special the hotel also boasts some rather impressive dining areas in the form of the Tower Restaurant and Vaulted Bar. The experience found in the Tower Restaurant starts by climbing the winding staircase of the 16th century tower and is met by award winning cuisine which befits such stunning surroundings. The Vaulted Bar is found within the historic cellars of Macdonald Houstoun House and provides a beautiful setting framed by large open fireplaces and antique furnishings and paintings.
