Easily accessible, the spa is situated in Thorpe-le-Soken, only eighty minutes by train from London Liverpool Street and a ten minute drive from the beach town of Frinton-on-Sea.

There are twelve acres of listed gardens designed by Lord and Lady Byng, who bought nearby manor house Thorpe Hall in 1913.

Surrounded by one hundred and thirty acres of rolling Essex countryside and landscaped gardens, the spa and leisure facilities at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel are a comprehensive lesson in all round health. With yoga, Pilates, Latin dance, a hydro pool, a salt room, sauna, steam room, plunge pool, and chill out rooms, facilities in the chic, contemporary structure are comprehensive, while the treatments using Jessica, BABOR and SIENNA X products range from facials, manicures and massages to the more unusual and specialised reaches of kinesiology, physiotherapy, reflexology, shiatsu and even consultations for nutrition, smoking cessation and virtual gastric bands.
Hotel & Accommodation
The white cube that constitutes the main building of Lifehouse echoes the form and function of postmodern architecture with glass corridors and clean lines, while the interiors enjoy a neutral palette peppered with bold shocks of primary colour across the eighty nine rooms.
The elegant design does not stop with the material elements of the venue however, as much attention is paid to the aesthetic of the food at the Water Lilies Restaurant – where boards of tomatoes on the vine, prime cuts, seafood and salads are served with casual charm.
