In January we gave one Spabreaks.com customer the chance to win the ultimate makeover – hair, wardrobe, personal training, the works … and this month super mum of four, Sandra Bronsen, took a little time out for some well-deserved pampering!
Where it is … You know TЀ London is the stylish way to get in shape because it is located in the Yummy-Mummy surrounds of Fulham.
What Cengiz recommends … As long as you have a healthy diet that supports your lifestyle, there is no need for expensive equipment or gym memberships – effective exercise can be done at home and using your own body weight. For Sandra I recommend doing fifteen to twenty minutes of strenghtening exercises a few times a week focusing on the core; and in terms of cardiovascular getting out for a walk or jog up to three times a week or introducing skipping which you can do at home, will be very effective. For everyone I always recommend drinking at least one and a half litres of water a day as well!
What Sandra thought … I stopped going to the gym a while ago because I think when you start getting a little older you need to be careful not to look strained – plus it takes up a lot of time! I like that this is a way of incorporating exercise into my routine!
Highlights … Working out with the man who got Rosamund Pike ready for her Bond debut in Die Another Day – enough said.
After the work out it’s time to chill out – next stop, Neville’s Hair Salon
Where it is … If you are going to pamper yourself, Knightsbridge is as good a place as any to start and the designer shops on Sloane Street that runs perpendicular to the salon’s home on Pont Street provides ample inspiration!
Dayne from Neville’s said … “We took an inch off the base length and kept it quite long because a shorter cut can be ageing on an oval face. We made the layers a bit choppier with an angle across the crown to give a bit of an edge. Sandra has a busy life, so her has to look good when you just want to wash and leave it – this cut is very low maintenance – all you need to do is put in a bit of wax to get a ‘done/not done’ look!”
Highlights … You know you are in a good place when the celebrities rock up as you’re sipping your herbal tea … but we’re too classy to name names I am afraid!
With all the base layers sorted it’s time to add the bells and whistles … final stop, Oxford Street with the celebrity stylist!
Where it is … If you are going to shop, you might as well do it properly … few places have more choice than London’s central shopping district.
What the stylist said … Layering is key and dressing appropriately for your age – Sandra has a great instinct for the colours that suit her – pale shades really compliment her skin tone, and we have modernised her look with the use of different fabrics in one item – her white shirt has sheer sleeves and a cotton body and extra little zip details. A top tip for this season? Pastels are going to be huge this summer!”
Serious highlights … So coveted is this stylist’s time that we aren’t even going to tell you her name for fear of mass hysteria … suffice to say as far as clients go, Sandra’s in good hands!
