Featuring Champagne and diamonds, there could be no better treatment for the lead up to the Jubilee celebrations this weekend. Spread Eagle Hotel & Spa’s Spa Coordinator, Lizzie Rowland talks about a facial that really makes you sparkle!
What does the facial involve?
It is a 90 minute treatment and starts with a 10 minute massage of choice, then an eye cleanse, double face cleanse, exfoliant and champagne mask brush, I usually add in a scalp massage at this point, before the chest, face and shoulder massage. After that we apply a cream mask and place paraffin wax with gauze over the skin to help it rehydrate. That stays on for 10 minutes while you have a Mediterranean exfoliation on your arms, and then the mask is removed with warm mitts before applying a duvet moisturiser mask. When that is removed we use an eye cream, neck cream and serum and a Luxury Truffle Moisturiser before finishing with a five minute massage on the feet, legs and ankles.
Where does it come from?
The treatment was created by the Temple Spa brand and uses all their products, which are based on the Mediterranean diet and are entirely organic.
What is it supposed to do?
It is a really decadent treatment that pampers from top to toe and is designed to make the skin glow. It contains strawberry which helps moisturise, tone and purify the skin, while Black Summer Truffles are rich in amino acids to aid skin rejuvenation. Meanwhile, the Champagne exfoliates and it also contains diamond dust which really makes you glow!
Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?
The whole environment is geared towards relaxation, so lighting is low and we have relaxing music in the room as well.
Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?
Take time out! Try to spend some time relaxing before the treatment and don’t rush off afterwards. Let the products work their magic and enjoy a stress free day.
Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?
It is great if you have a wedding or special occasion coming up as you see instant results and the skin really does glow afterwards. Because it’s a long, intense treatment it’s good for stress, and is particularly good for people over the age of 25 when skin starts to show more signs of ageing.
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?
In anyone under the age of 25 it will be a relaxing treatment, but more mature skin will see the most benefit from it. If you have any allergies to strawberries you should mention it to your therapist, but unless it is extreme most people do not have a problem.
