Have you noticed anything different about us this month? For those of you with a keen eye, you might have noticed that Spabreaks.com has gone a particularly fetching shade of pink, and it’s all because October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!
Like most people, cancer is an issue close to our hearts, not least of all because we launched our Recovery Retreats this year for anyone who has or has recently had cancer. So this month we are hosting a series of fundraising activities and giving away more than 5000 gifts absolutely FREE thanks to our friends at Collection cosmetics, Rituals, Pinks Boutique and Pinky Vodka.
But our dedication to the cancer cause isn’t just a one-month thing – Spabreakers in the office and out have been doing their bit throughout the year …
Health for Health 10k!
After six months of training, six members of the Spabreaks.com team joined more than 25,000 runners in July this year for the British 10k in London, raising more than £600 for Cancer Research UK and sticking to that New Year’s resolution to make 2012 that little bit fitter in the process! To see how they did it, check out Health for Health 10k!
Sport for Seve!
Our sister company, YourGolfTravel.com have been doing their part by running the 2012 London marathon and walking 300 miles from London to Royal Lytham & St Annes to raise funds and awareness for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation which works in conjunction with Cancer Research UK!
Bike Ride For Breast Cancer Care!
Our fabulous Team Leader, Vicky did a sponsored cycle from London to Cambridge this summer in aid of Breast Cancer Care.
Little Princesses
She might be expecting her second baby at the moment, but that isn’t stopping super-mum and Spabreaker, Nicky Ashenden. from doubling her efforts for the Little Princesses Trust which provides real-hair wigs for children who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other illnesses. Normally costing up to £2000, the charity gives wigs to children aged 3-16 years old free of charge, but they still cost around £350 to make and then you need to find the hair to make them. So Nicky has not only been growing her own hair this year ready to cut it short and donate it to the cause, she is also fundraising to help make as many wigs as possible as well! To support her visit JustGiving!
And then of course there is this month, where we are going all rosy and we’re taking you with us … so what can you expect? Well, for every booking made before 31st October we will give 50p to Breast Cancer Care; the Spabreaks.com team will be getting involved in a series of fundraising events including office pyjama days and we’re also raising money for Breast Cancer Care through our JustGiving page where you will receive a FREE Rituals product when you donate £5 or more!
As if that wasn’t enough we are also giving away a Metallic Cream, Rock ‘n Rose eye shadow AND a Lasting Colour Lipstick in Sweet Tart from Collection cosmetics to all customers while stocks last; you will receive a FREE £10 Spabreaks.com voucher to use on your next purchase AND an exclusive discount code from Pinks Boutique when you book any spa day or break this month; and if you book a group getaway for eight or more people we will give you a FREE bottle of Pinky Vodka!
