Everyone who came with us described it as life changing. We are so used to having water that comes out of the tap every day that we don’t think about how important it is.
I had the opportunity to stay overnight with a community where Pump Aid has implemented a clean water project for the community and the school. The village was miles away from the nearest tarmac road and obviously there was no electricity or any mod-cons whatsoever. But it was so good to be with these people and they were so happy with the access to clean water.
As usual they could teach the rest of us a thing or two about hospitality. Our hosts in the village provided an abundance of entertainment – we sang and danced with the light of the torches we had brought along and had a great stay!
