Top Ten … New Year Spa Breaks

The champagne is on ice, and the band is ready to play … this is ten ways to do New Year the Spabreaks.com way …

The Scotsman, Edinburgh

Stop the press and celebrate Hogmanay with a glass of champagne and an aromatic massage at a hotel that once housed the printers and writers of its namesake, The Scotsman newspaper.

Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa, Dundee

On the banks of the River Tay, Apex City Quay Hotel and Spa is an ultra modern hotel  with traditional values – so this year they are doing Hogmanay Dundee style … with a bit of a Japanese twist thanks to the Yu Spa!

Lifehouse Spa and Hotel, Essex

Summing up the whole ethos of this health spa with all the trimmings, Lifehouse’s Naughty But Nice New Years package has even anticipated the inclusive need for bacon rolls at 2am!

Bishopstrow House and Spa, Wiltshire

Providing all the classic favourites that are in keeping with the hotel’s charm, Bishopstrow House and Spa is hosting a black tie gala complete with a house band and fireworks to finish things off.

Penha Longa Hotel and Golf Resort, Portugal

Why only celebrate the passing of one year and start of a new one with one night away when you can have three?  In the middle of a UNESCO World Heritage Natural Park with views of the southern Sintra Mountains, you would be hard pushed to find a better way to see in 2013 than with three nights in Portugal!

Grayshott Spa Hotel, Surrey

Providing entertainment that former owner and Poet Laureate, Lord Alfred Tennyson would be spouting sonnets about, New Year at Grayshott includes a gala dinner and a live band and of course, champagne at midnight!

Borgo Egnazia, Italy

Amongst the olive trees, jasmine and lemon groves, this is a hotel devoted to serenity and making relaxation dreams come true.  So their Three Night New Year Spa Break seems like a particularly good place to start – especially with the inclusion of a Wish List Activity.

Homewood Park, Bath

A renovated country house surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, New Year at Homewood Park is all about dressing up and dancing to the house band as though you are one of Jane Austen’s heroines.

Bowood Hotel and Spa, Wiltshire

The fact that you are surrounded by acre upon acre of secluded countryside means that you know there is no risk of disturbing the neighbours at Bowood Hotel’s disco on New Year’s Eve … or for something a little more in keeping with the traditional setting there will also be a pianist playing in the Shelburne Restaurant.  Either way, there will be champagne and pampering or a round of golf … depending on your preference or your headache.

The BodyHoliday, St Lucia

Seven nights on a Caribbean island with a treatment every day … what more is there to say? … Have a Happy New Year!
