Tried and Tested: Luxury Gold Spa Range

Take a look at Natural Spa Factory’s website and you pretty much want to eat everything on there, which is most definitely not what you are supposed to do.  That said, you probably could given the natural credentials of the brand.  From Organic Dark Chocolate Body Wraps, to Nectarine and Honey Blossom Salt Scrubs, Strawberry Cream Scrubs, and Fig and Vanilla shampoo, the products list reads like a chapter in Nigella Lawson’s How To Be A Domestic Goddess.

As with all good things, this is a brand that comes in a small package – set up by husband and wife team, Jeremy and Emma , who have extensive experience in the spa industry, their goal has been to create innovative products, and that they certainly do.  Not only do they produce lines that are available in spas such as Ruthin Castle Hotel (a destination which in itself upholds the virtues of creativity), but also in a line of products to use at home.

Amongst these, is their new range of gold products, which, given our slightly magpie-like tendencies, we couldn’t help but thrill at the prospect of trying …

Gold Facial Scrub with extract of Champagne and Pearl: Oh if decadence could come in a bottle this is exactly what it would look like.  Putting a small amount of this shimmering scrub into my hands and smoothing it across my face I half expected to look in the mirror and see a rather crude interpretation of Honour Blackman in Gold Finger, but fortunately for my towels, the colour is merely in the bottle and doesn’t translate onto the skin.  The scrub is fresh smelling and certainly does the trick as far as scrubbing goes, providing a perfect, radiance boosting product to use once a week.  That said, it is still gentle enough to use before an event without worrying about redness.

Gold Dry Oil:  For use on hair and body, this moisturising oil is designed to make you feel expensive – oh the luxury of pouring what effectively looks like a bottle of glitter onto your skin, leaving a gentle shimmer behind – more for nights out than breakfast meetings then, but fun nonetheless.  In terms of your hair, like any oil it is something to use sparingly to again give it a nourishing boost.

Gold Body Scrub: Very similar to the Facial Scrub, but with a bit more ‘grit’ so to speak for those slightly dryer patches such as elbows and heels.  Again this is a delicately scented product – unobtrusive, but fresh, and with serious feel-good factor because frankly, it’s just terribly pretty.  The only problem  is that my inner Scrooge really comes out when using these glittering scrubs and I find myself being unnecessarily frugal with the amount that I use simply because it feels like the sort of thing that should be savoured … but I suspect that is a problem I will get over without too much trouble!
