The wrap itself start with a full body scrub, getting rid of dry skin, and boosting circulation. The wrap itself is then applied to the whole body, and while it is working we offer guests a face and scalp massage. Guests then get into the rain shower and use a body scrub of their choice, which leaves a lovely oily residue on skin. They then get back on the bed and we do a gentle massage with a dry gold body oil which leaves a gentle shimmer.
It’s from The Natural Spa Factory, which is a small brand whose ethos is built on providing really unique and special experiences using natural products. The chocolate wrap is made from pure chocolate which is rich in nourishing cocoa butter and anti oxidants.
It helps to nourish and treat the skin while the natural caffeine stimulates the body to burn fat and the endorphins released promote a feeling of wellbeing.
We invite guests to come an hour beforehand to use the thermal suite ready for their treatment, then we take them for a foot ritual using a large copper bowl with warm water and local Anglesea sea salt to scrub the feet and legs with either peppermint, rose, lime and lemongrass, or chocolate orange. As we are in a castle is it a little reference to the history of the location as it’s based on rituals that used to be performed on members of the royal family.
The obvious ones are drinking plenty of water to eliminate toxic waste, and of course, buy our body lotion to use afterwards - it’s beautiful, very velvety!
It’s lovely for anyone because it’s very indulgent. Most people need a bit of a detox every now and then, and this is the indulgent way to go about it, although it is also a little tempting being made of chocolate! It’s very good at the start of the summer, decluttering the body before you go on holiday.
It’s best avoided if you have eczema or psoriasis, and with severe medical conditions you would need a letter from your doctor before proceeding. Wraps in general are not suitable for pregnant women either, but beyond that, there’s nothing in the products that should cause problems as The Natural Spa Factory is a salt-of-the-earth brand.
