A facial with a magic ingredient that’s particularly helpful for keeping your skin at its best through the winter months; Norton Park explains why their Nourishing Facial works!
What exactly is the Nourishing Facial?
It’s a facial that’s specifically tailored to the client’s skin type. We start with a cleanse followed by exfoliation, and we then include a mask. That’s followed by a treatment oil for the facial massage and then the Optimal Skin Pro Serum before the appropriate moisturiser. The treatment is 50 minutes long, but with the consultation it’s an hour.
Where does it come from?
All of the products used are ESPA and we recommend this treatment in particular because it contains the serum which suits all skin types thanks to the super active ingredients!
What is it supposed to do?
The serum is designed to help the skin by enhancing its natural properties – it contains hyaluronic acid which gives moisture to the skin. It also has high quality collagen in it to keep the skin plumped up, along with ceramide to strengthen the skin. It has instant results and leaves your skin feeling lovely. You can buy the serum and use it at home as well to really carry on the treatment. Other ingredients include turmeric to brighten and even the skin tone; rosehip and echium oil for promoting health; white lupin to increase elasticity and firmness; to lock in moisture there is a seaweed extract called kalpariane; sunflower seeds strengthen and protect; vitamin E and evening primrose oil protects and regenerates skin cells; the balloon plant to calm and comfort; and finally rose and patchouli essential oils to soothe the skin.
Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?
We always do a sensory test at the start of this facial to determine which oil to use. We also have an offer throughout October at all of the QHotels where you receive a full size serum (which usually retails at £48.00) if you book an Express 30-minute facial.
Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?
Home care will really help you to make the most of the treatment, so we recommend aftercare products tailored to your skin and in particular the serum used in the facial. We also recommend drinking lots of water and plenty of sleep!
Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?
It’s really for all skin types, ages, men and women – that’s what’s so good about it!
Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?
Not specifically as we tailor treatments for individuals, however we wouldn’t recommend it for women who are less than 14 weeks pregnant.
