Why it works … Body Strategist+ Mud Wrap

The secret’s in the oarweed … New Park Manor ’s Bath House Spa explains why the Body Strategist+ Mud Wrap is the treatment for January!

What exactly is the Body Strategist+ Mud Wrap?

It’s an hour-long treatment starting with a full body scrub before the mud is applied.  Then you are wrapped up and afterwards you shower quickly before returning to the treatment bed where we apply the Body Strategist refiner moisturiser.

Where does it come from?

It’s a Comfort Zone body wrap which is an Italian product line based on natural ingredients.

What is it supposed to do?

It’s slimming and detoxifying and also helps to improve circulation.  The process is key to this – the scrub gets the circulation going and then the main ingredient is oarweed which has a high density of minerals.  It also contains fennel to increase the circulation and tone, and eucalyptus which is cooling, refreshing and also helps to de-stress and ease muscular aches and pains as well as being an anti-inflammatory.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

We always encourage clients to drink lots of water and herbal teas to continue the Detox process.  We advise clients to use the spa facilities before the treatment, especially the pool and sauna; that way it will already have helped to start the circulation and encourage the products to work.

Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?

Anyone who has been particularly stressed at work and in need of a proper Detox.  It’s a very good January treatment!  Your skin will feel very soft afterwards and you have a sense of feeling lighter and more relaxed afterwards.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

Anyone with high blood pressure, pregnant women, anyone with iodine allergies, and sensitivity to essential oils should be mentioned beforehand.
