Using Ireland’s home harvested product line, VOYA, Dunboyne Castle Hotel and Spa explains what’s so special about their Seoid Complete Harmony treatment …

What exactly is the treatment?

It’s 75 minutes in total and involves a soothing back, neck, and shoulder massage and a skin specific facial.

Where does it come from?

It’s our signature treatment using the VOYA products, which are an Irish brand that are completely organic and use seaweed harvested from the Irish coast.

What is it supposed to do?

The products are anti-ageing and are very good for any skin problems.  The massage element is all about relaxation and getting into the treatment, loosening tight muscles and relieving stress.  The facial is really deep cleansing – using two cleansers and an exfoliation to really open up the pores and clean the skin.  Then after that we apply a mask which is really hydrating and anti-ageing, and here we apply seaweed leaves to the skin as well.  You have a scalp massage while they are on, and then it finishes with a lymphatic drainage facial massage which includes the neck and décolleté.  The focus is on the facial which is cleansing, hydrating, and restores balance.

Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?

We do a VOYA starter ritual with a VOYA essence that includes seven different essential oils and also includes a foot cleanse with warm mitts which introduces you to the therapist’s touch.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

I like to ask them to use the thermal spa for an hour beforehand including the hydrotherapy pool as that really opens up the pores and relaxes the muscles as well.  It will also help to clear your mind for the treatment.  Afterwards, go to the relaxation room and have a VOYA herbal tea and just sleep there for as long as you want.

Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?

Lifestyle wise I would say that it suits anyone with high levels of stress because the whole journey is about calming and soothing – for anyone with a hectic city life it will bring you back down to earth.  It’s also great for eczema, dry skin, psoriasis, and maturing skin.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

Anyone with allergies to iodine or shellfish should avoid it.  It’s generally fine for anyone who has illnesses such as cancer or for mums-to-be but do advise the spa before booking in case you need a doctor’s note.
