Summer is here, the shades are on, the bright colours are pulled from the back of the wardrobe, and most importantly the bikinis are out. So you’ve lost the weight through a detox retreat or on your own – fantastic! The big test now will be can you keep it off while on your holidays. The answer is a very simple, providing you follow the correct steps.
Step 1: Be aware of how amazing you look and feel when you live a generally healthier lifestyle.
Step 2: If you are by a beach, try to take a long (two hour) walk by the seaside to start your day. Sand or pebbles are great for walking across as they get all the leg muscles working more than walking on a flat road.
Step 3: Aim to practice yoga three times weekly. Not only does it relax the mind, it’s also brilliant for toning and strengthening the body.
Step 4: Drink at least two litres of water daily. This will keep your skin glowing. Finishing one glass before starting each meal will encourage you to feel fuller sooner.
Step 5: If you have the option – go for a swim!
Step 6: Get your five a day. It seems impossible to some – but getting your daily fix of fruit and veg is very important. One of our favourite things to do is to make a juice (carrot, celery, ginger for example – easy to make and super tasty.)
Step 7: Try and steer clear of too much alcohol. Remember that it is a toxin, and therefore will leave your skin feeling dehydrated and you are likely to be more prone to breakouts. Most alcoholic drinks have tons of calories in them too, not to mention how you feel the morning after!
