In the lead up to our Men’s MOT Week next week, we asked Your Golf Travel blogger, Trent, to tell us when he needs a break!
What do you do … I’ve spent the past five years working as a sports journalist covering mainly cricket, rugby league, horse racing and golf. I currently work as the Online Editor for Your Golf Travel. I’m a sports fanatic and I love travel, being outdoors, and having a few drinks with mates.
What makes you stressed? … Besides playing poor golf (and my rugby league team’s horrific start to the season), everyday factors like money, pressures at work, and planning for the future. Being an Antipodean, I’ve found the weather over the past few months has certainly compounded any feelings of negativity as I don’t have my usual stress-alleviating outlets like going to the beach, kicking a footy, or playing a round of golf.
What are you doing about it this week and why? … I’m going to eat healthily, limit my alcohol intake, and ensure I get a good night’s sleep each night. I find that when I’m feeling tired and run down I’m more susceptible to stress and don’t cope as well with the pressures of day-to-day life. Hopefully a few days of sun will allow me to get outside and enjoy a few of the activities I love. My friends and family will probably attest that I’ll be a much nicer person to be around too!
