We caught up with Eden Hall Day Spa to find out a little more about one of their signature treatments – their Soothing Facial!

What exactly is the Soothing Facial?

This 55-minute facial begins with a cleansing balm using soft brushes to gently remove any impurities from the skin. The skin is gently exfoliated and then cleansed again with warm towels before a mud mask is applied to remineralise, nourish and soften the skin.  Your skin will then experience a specialized Aromatherapy Associates pressure point and drainage massage using cool stones to reduce high colour, lift and firm the skin. A luxurious shoulder massage is carried out by your therapist whilst a second mask soothes your skin.  An application of skin soothing serum and a repairing moisturiser completes the treatment.

Where does it come from?

Aromatherapy Associates is a UK based company with over 30 years of experience in the therapeutic benefits of essential oils which can be traced back to the very beginnings of modern aromatherapy.

What is it supposed to do?

It is a soothing and calming facial suitable for irritated or inflamed skin, helping to reduce redness, nourish and restore the skin’s radiance.

Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?

Soft cleansing brushes are used to ensure the skin is gently exfoliated., while the stones are kept cool with cold water prior to the treatment.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

The client should continue to use the soothing facial range at home to maintain the results from the facial.

Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?

Clients with a sensitive, reactive, irritated or inflamed skin.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

It is suitable for all skin types.
