It can be hard getting ready for a night out at work with limited time or room to spare, so the great thing about this look is you can start it in the morning and apply the finishing touches to create a striking result just before you leave for your night out!
As always I apply my primer first. This month I am using Strobe Cream from MAC. My skin is getting dryer in the cold weather so for me it is the ultimate quick fix. It de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, tired looking skin.
Prime your eye before applying your eyeshadow. For this look we are going to use a lot if gold eyeshadow so make sure you apply your primer all over your eyelids and right up to the brow line.
This is one of the easiest eyeshadow techniques. Apply a generous amount of eyeshadow to your brush. I’m going to use just one large blending eyeshadow brush for this. Apply all over your eyelid, into the crease and above. Don’t go up to the brow line, we want to leave a little gap here. To give the eye a rich golden look I am using Dazzlelight and All that Glitters from MAC. Using Dazzlelight as the base colour and All that glitters in the crease. You can choose how light or dark you want your over all eyeshadow colour by mixing the two.
I want my foundation to last all night, so I am using MAC Studio Fix foundation. This foundation moisturises and has fantastic coverage. Apply all over you face using a foundation brush, then go over again with a buffer brush to blend in and smooth out any lines. With this foundation you may not need any concealer, but after a hard days work you might need a little help under the eyes, I always recommended MAC Pro longwear concealer.
Time to frame the eyes! Eyebrows are an integral part of this look. I have mentioned before that my eyebrows have gaps so a little bit of work has to go into creating this look. Big brows can look great, but if they are done badly it can be a disaster. Firstly and to define the shape of the brows, I draw a line under and on top of the brow to create the perfect shape. I always use a slightly lighter colour than my hair, so I use MAC’s Brow Crayon in the colour Lingering. For this big brow look I want to darken the colour a little for a more dramatic effect so I lightly go over them with a matte brown eyeshadow. Apply this with an angled or fan brush.
For the mascara, I am using Tarte 4-in-1 Mascara. A lengthening and conditioning mascara infused with olive esters to condition, treat, and protect lashes. Perfect for the winter months.
I am using a light dusting of MAC’s Petal Power blusher on the high cheeks. This is a really pretty light pink/coral colour.
Even though this is a winter look we are going to use a sunkissed bronzer. This look is all about the glow. Bronzer is also great for creating natural contouring on your face. I am using Bourjois all year round sunkissed bronzing powder. For me this is the best bronzer you can buy under £10. Apply the bronzer with a large brush just on and under the the cheekbones, and on the top of your forehead. Then with your foundation buffer brush blend in the bronzer so there are no dramatic lines.
I always use a natural colour lip liner to get the lip shape perfect before applying the lipstick. For the lipstick I am using MAC Rebel, this is a berry-red with a little purple tint. Perfect for this seasons colour palette!
Finally for an extra glow on top of your cheekbones, apply a light coating of highlighting powder with a powder brush. I am using Burberry nude radiance highlighter powder. So that’s it, you’re ready to go! You’ve successfully created a striking on trend look that’s perfect for the party season! All from the work toilets!
– You can apply the majority of this look for work. Just before you leave the office you can apply another layer of gold eyeshadow and bronzer and finally your berry lipstick to take you into the night.
– It can be quite a task carrying all you need for your days work and for your night out. I have found a hold all bag from The Camouflage Company which I just love! It is lightweight and has plenty of storage space for hairspray, perfume, hair brushes and more. It come with two smaller hold all bags that are perfect for your handbag. It is waterproof and has a handy hook so you can hang up on the back of the bathroom door for easy access.
