When you’re feeling dehydrated and a little worse for wear after a big night out it’s pretty certain your skin is looking and feeling the same too! Now I haven’t found the cure for a hangover yet but I can help you look like you don’t have one in a few simple steps! This look is all about looking young and fresh!
I’ve had my shower and washed away most of the evidence of last night! To hydrate I always have a coconut water… It’s the closest I’ve got to the cure! Then I hydrate my skin. I use Masque Creme Fraiche by Nuxe. This moisturiser is designed for sensitive dehydrated skin. It is my favourite moisturiser, once you apply it you will feel the soothing action straight away.
My skin is feeling really dull so I am using MAC Strobe Cream as my primer. This is the ultimate quick fix for the skin. It de-snoozes, de-stresses, moistens, freshens and boosts the look of dull, flat or tired-looking skin with a fully loaded vitamin zap and a mega dose of green tea. This is giving me the perfect base to start working on.
Time to conceal the effects of last night! For my eyes I’m using a MAC paint pot in colour Painterly. It is a soft ‘taupey’ pink that covers over my blemishes and any redness in my eyes, and sets up my eyelids as a smooth canvas to apply shadow. For any other blemishes on my face and under my eyes I’m using MAC Prolong-wear concealer.
This look is very fresh so no dark colours needed! I am using MAC Shoom colour eyeshadow. This colour has a light grey/green hint which covers any redness in your eye. I use this all over the lid and up towards the eyebrow line. For the crease line on the lid I mix Shroom and a little bit of colour Vex for some light definition.
Today I’m using my everyday foundation which I swear by! Rimmel long lasting 24-hour finish with comfort serum. This is the foundation I wear during the week. I find it genuinely lasts all day and doesn’t dehydrate my skin. It is a bargain at £7 99! Using a foundation brush apply all over your face.
For a fresh glow sometimes you need to create areas of highlight by using a lighter foundation colour. Today I am using Revlon Colourstay 24hrs for normal to dry skin in colour ivory. I apply a thin line down the centre of my nose, a line under each eye and a fan of lines above my nose at the base of my forehead. With a big blending brush I blend this in on top of my foundation base. This is contouring which creates an all day glow and again hides any redness in your skin.
I am using Rimmel professional eyebrow pencil in colour Hazel to create definition in my eyebrows.
Bronzer and blusher will bring life to your skin! I apply my bronzer under my cheekbones and to the top line of my forehead. I am using my favourite bronzer by Bourjois which gives a real sun kissed glow. For my blusher I am using colour New Romance from MAC mineralise blush range. This is a sheer and lightweight powder and the colour is young and fresh!
This will lift the eyes. Today I am using black flutter mascara from So Susan. The fantastic thing about this product is that they pride themselves in being cruelty free to animals and the mascara is suitable to contact lens wearers, so there should no irritation from this product! I also apply white eye pencil to the bottom inner lid of my eye which helps to open up the eyes more and disguise redness.
To finish off this light and fresh look I am using a nude/pink colour from Burberry called English Rose. It’s a great colour to wear during the day and finishes off this look perfectly!
Now you should be able to face the world! Even if you’re not feeling very fresh you will definitely look it!
