As if visiting Epic SANA Algarve isn’t enough, their beautiful spa has all the answers when it comes to looking and feeling your best. Here they explain why mesotherapy should be the next treatment on your shopping list…

What exactly is mesotherapy?

Mesotherapy is a non-invasive, painless and safe technique with no side effects. It starts with an assessment of the objectives of each client to determine the best approach. It often requires a mixture of treatments to ensure we deliver what the client expects. We work with various products from vitamins, minerals and amino acids which are applied topically and through a transdermal mesotherapy machine to facilitate the absorption and penetration of the product.

Where does it come from?

Transdermal mesotherapy has its origins in traditional mesotherapy which has evolved since 1952. It consists of a cosmetic procedure in which the needle is replaced by a transdermal delivery system (through the skin) by electromagnetic waves that open the pores and help penetration of the compounds. These products penetrate the skin and thus are absorbed by the body.

What is it supposed to do?

The compounds used in each treatment are different, according to the needs of each individual. Each of them has different purposes; reducing volume, anti-cellulite, anti-sagging, as well as reducing streaks, capillary strengthening and anti-aging.

Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?

The daily use of specific products at home, as well as water intake and a healthy lifestyle will improve the effects achieved for each treatment in a longer basis.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

In each session the client is given a supplement to assist in the elimination of toxins.

Is there anyone you particular recommend the treatment for?

We are able to customise the treatment to each individual thus almost everybody can benefit from it. We would recommend it to anybody aiming to lose a few inches and improve their visual aspect and self-esteem.

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

It isn’t suitable for women who are pregnant or nursing women and anyone with a pacemaker.
