Couples who train together stay together! Jack Green, model and owner of Jack Green Fitness, is back as he explains the benefits of working out with your other half…
Increased motivation
Working out with a training buddy increases motivation which means there’s more chance of committing to a regular exercise pattern. So why not make that buddy your other half? If you’re living together it’s even easier to add time for training into your daily routines. Start a calendar on the fridge outlining training and rest days, and tick them off as you go for added motivation!
Achieve results together
Whether it be weight loss, toning or increased fitness, seeing the results of your hard work together will be extremely rewarding. Before you start, each write down what you want to achieve from your training programme. If and when you achieve each thing, plan a reward. A massage each or a weekend away are great motivators!
Enjoy the competition
Competition during training and competition to reach fitness goals is healthy and will lead couples to push themselves harder than if they were working out alone. Just make sure you support and encourage each other too.
It’s a joint hobby
Getting out of the house and doing something together as a couple is great for a relationship. Whether it’s rock climbing, running, going to the gym or swimming – you will reap the benefits of doing a hobby together that’s also constructive. Exercise also reduces stress, which is always a good thing for couples!
Increased libido
Cardiovascular exercise is really good for increasing your sex drive. You will reduce your stress and cortisol levels and also increase blood flow to your sexual organs, all resulting in increased libido.
So as a couple you should start to see many benefits from training together, not just increased fitness…give it a go and make this year healthier and happier!
