You absolutely want to look your best on a first date… after all it is the first impression you are making – all the more reason for your make-up to reflect who you are with a glowing natural look!
As it is the month of love, I am going to show you how to bring out the sparkle in your eyes with a soft smokey shadow and sweet pink kissable lips!
If there is one thing you do in your preparation for a first date, make sure you moisturise your skin that day and again before you apply your make-up. You want your skin to be smooth and radiant for the night ahead. After you have moisturised, prime your skin. I am using MAC Strobe Liquid Lotion. This glides on easily and will give your skin an extra radiant glow.
As this look is all about looking fresh and pretty I am going to use MAC Mineralize Foundation. As I always say, test a little foundation on the side of your cheek before using it all over. The colour should match your skin tone and not to be any darker. If you have applied fake tan however, make sure the foundation colour matches it. Apply foundation using a brush all over your face until lightly covered.
I am using MAC Painterly – this hides any blemishes on the eyelids and creates a good base for working on. If you do not have any eye primer, I recommend using a light creamy coloured shadow as a base, this will also hide any imperfections.
I am going to build the colour up on the eyes, starting light. On my eyelids I am using colour ‘Phloof!’ as a base. Then with a thin angled brush and using the colour Satin Taupe, I go along the top eyelash line. Blend it out at the corner for a winged effect. Then take a larger blending brush and blend it in circular motions to aid a smooth colour transition between the two.
Instead of using eyeliner, pencil or pen, I am going to use eye shadow. Taking your angled brush again go over your eye line with the colour Typographic from MAC. Do the lame to your lower eye line. You only need a tiny amount and don’t worry if you create a mess under your eyes you can clean this up after with a wet wipe and some concealer! Finally add masara.
Bronzer is a light way of contouring and adding radiance to your skin. I apply a small amount under my cheekbones, and lightly on the top of my forehead. I use Bourjois Bronzer.
As I am going to be using pink lipstick, I want a light pink/rose colour on my cheeks. A very pretty, light colour. I use MAC, mostly the colour Dame mixed with a little Peaches on the top of my cheeks.
I want a sweet pink lip, so the perfect colour for this is Burberry Lip Mist in Feather Pink. This is a light shimmery lipstick… perfect for the first kiss!
Add a light dusting of Studio Fix by MAC in your colour to seal your make-up. This will also take away any shininess on your skin.
Now you should be feeling radiant and confident! Have fun!
