With Mother’s Day coming up, it’s never too early to start thinking about what you’re going to get to spoil your mum on her special day. Sometimes it can be tricky to know where to start, but here are my top picks.
This year I’ll be creating my mum a pamper hamper stocked with loads of goodies for her to treat herself. Whether you’re treating a new mum, a mum with teenagers, a working mum, or a grandma, a pamper hamper with all their favourite things is ideal as you can spend as much as you like depending on your budget.
To get you started, you can get a cheap hamper box online from Ebay or other craft stores, then you can decorate it however you like!
Then it’s time to start filling it up. I’d recommend some luxurious bath goodies to get going. These are a perfect addition to any pamper session. One of my personal favourites is the Lush Comforter which just melts in the bath and leaves a sweet aroma which I absolutely love. It’s also a product that you can get several uses out of.
To make that bath extra special and relaxing, you could also pop a nice scented candle into the hamper. If you can afford to splash out a bit I’d recommend one from Jo Malone. There are loads of different scents to fit your mum’s personality, and they just ooze luxury. If not, a good old Yankee candle is always a sure bet.
If you’re a crafty type of person, then to add that personal touch you could make some of your own pamper products. All you need is a nice jar, some bits of ribbon to decorate and online you can find recipes to create body scrubs, lip scrubs and more. If not, I’d recommend any scrubs from the Sanctuary Spa range which leave you feeling buffed and polished.
Another fab item you could add to your hamper is a cleansing face mask. My personal favourites are the Montagne Jeunesse range as they are around £1 each and are extremely satisfying to remove (especially the peeling ones). If your budget stretches a bit further, then I would also recommend the ESPA Essential Cleansing Mask or the Lush Mask of Magnaminty.
Another winner for me is an invigorating face moisturiser. One of my favourites is the Origins Ginzing Moisturiser, as it’s full of great ingredients like Panax Ginseng and Coffee Bean which really leaves you feeling refreshed.
Lastly to finish off the pamper session, pop in some body creams to leave her skin feeling silky smooth. My personal favourites are the Body Shop creams as there are loads of different delicious scents to choose from.
To end the pamper session, I’m a big fan of a hydrating lip balm, and my top recommendation is the NUXE Lip Balm. Lastly you could add in a little box of your mum’s favourite chocolates, just to finish it all off. I bet she’ll love it.
Of course, if you want to treat your mum to something extra special, there’s no beating a spa day. That way you get to spend the day together being pampered. Picture sitting in the hot tub, a relaxing massage, body scrub or mani/pedi, then a steam or sauna and a few laps around the pool. Most spa days also come with lunch included so you can make a whole day of it too.
Whatever you do, I hope you and your mum have a great Mother’s Day!
