Spabreaks.com’s make-up guru Emma Hales explains how gym bunnies can get a post workout glow to look fresh faced all day…

Summer is just around the corner and I have been hitting the gym over the last few weeks in a bid to feel my best for the summer.

So today I am going to give you a glimpse into my post gym make-up bag. I have been going to the gym in the mornings and so I bring some make-up with me so I can go straight from the gym and get on with the rest of my day. For this look, its all about hiding the red blemishes from your workout and creating a fresh daytime look.

I am using mostly high-street make-up as I don’t like to carry my more expensive make-up around with me. I have found some great essentials that work perfectly for this look.

Concealer:

If you’re like me you will turn a nice shade of red after your workout and for some reason, any blemishes you already had will now look even redder than before, so after I have washed and moisturised my face I start concealing those blemishes. In my bag I am carrying one of my favorite new high-street brands Makeup Revolution. I conceal any dark circles and imperfections with their easily blendable liquid concealer.

Foundation:

This is the only expensive product in my bag…. MAC Face & Body Foundation. A little goes a long way with this foundation. It is light and so perfect for after the gym when the last thing you want to wear is heavy make-up. I also love this product as it’s for your face and your body. Sometimes blemishes may appear out your neck and this foundation is perfect for body blemish coverage.

When I have applied my foundation I usually go over any blemishes of dark circles again with my concealer. Using Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge, I gently blend this in.

Eyes:

I am using Makeup Revolution’s Salvation Palette – What You Waiting For. They have combined shimmer and matte shades in a series of exciting limited edition palettes. These palettes are in a beautiful compact with large full size mirror – great when you are on the go! I apply a matte creamy yellow color all over my eyelid and right up to my brow bone. This eliminates any redness on the eye. I then go over the eyelid with a soft shimmery baby pink. This gives my eyes a light daytime glow. I then apply mascara as normal.

Eyebrows:

Today I am trying out an eyebrow pencil from MUA – another high street brand. This pencil does the job, but it’s not my favourite, The pencil is very soft and so it loses the sharp end needed for accurate lines. My recommendation would be Rimmel’s eyebrow pencil.

Blusher:

I am using Makeup Revolution – Vivid Blush Lacquer Rush. This liquid blush gives an intense pop of colour, easy to blend and a little goes a long way! I bought this product on a whim and what a nice surprise! It is perfect for daytime use and one I will be keeping in my makeup bag. I dab a tiny amount on the back of my hand and apply to the apple of my cheeks with my finger.

Lips:

Staying moisturised after the gym is so important and your lips are no exception. Makeup Revolution has a very clever product that both moistures and colours your lips. Amazing Care lipsticks give a shot of intense colour in the core surrounded by the comfort and hydration or Argan Oil outer. Leaving our lips feeling moist, not sticky. I really love this product and fully recommend it!

So there you have it, you are now ready for the day, feeling fit and looking fresh!
