Tried and tested: Work it Out from Temple Spa

Sometimes life presents you with the exact thing that you need in that moment, and that is precisely what happened when Temple Spa’s new massage oil landed on my doorstep.

temple spa

My first introduction to Temple Spa was a number of years ago, and what immediately stood out was the quality of their natural products and the mouth wateringly good smells that they produced. Of course at that time I was part of a yoghurt and Greek honey wrap , which actually probably was edible given the happy healthy credentials of the brand.

Feel-good factor

Aptly named, Work it Out is a massage oil that can also be used as a bath oil. Its goal is to relieve aching muscles, eliminate toxins, and stimulate circulation – ‘muscle-tox’ as the box tells me.

Well, like I said, it couldn’t have arrived at a better time, because running had caused some seriously tight muscles and in using it just as the summer months were beginning to peek above the clouds I was really rather hoping it would make me feel a little less like I had been hibernating all winter (which I basically have).

The power of essential oils

True to form, the smell of this oil is beautiful. A potent blend of 21 essential oils including juniper, clove, cypress and thyme, all of which have a reputation for detox, it is fresh and luxurious all at the same time, and incredibly soothing as well.

Used as a massage oil, one of the things I liked the most about Work it Out is that it warms up on your hands as you work it into the skin and muscles, and it does give a real feeling of ‘getting things moving’ so to speak. It’s invigorating, and a thoroughly pleasant experience, not to mention acting as a pretty good moisturiser in the process.

Man-friendly

One of the things that can be tricky about spa products is that they are often tailored specifically to women. While Work it Out probably has its main market in female consumers, the smell is pretty universally likeable, and as such, when my boyfriend came home complaining of an aches and pains after a day of water sport, he soon found his way into the bottle (I will do my level best to hide it better next time).

All in all, I could wax lyrical about Temple Spa and their latest oil until the cows come home because I have been, and continue to be, a big fan of what they produce. It’s honest, it’s natural, it’s UK based, it works and it’s a total pleasure to use. What more could you ask for?

P.S For those wanting to try this out with a professional twist, Temple Spa products are used at the beautiful spa at Spread Eagle Hotel … check it out!
