Growing our brand profile. We are currently doing a lot of work on social media focusing on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram and we are developing our latest garments – we have some pretty cool stuff coming out shortly! We are also identifying personalities that really capture what the Get Hench brand is about, so that we can work together to push it. Lastly we are making sure we sell a lot of items through our website and partnering with organisations that can help us reach more people (gyms, shops, universities). We were at the BodyPower Expo in Birmingham on the 17th May as part of this (it is the biggest Fitness and Sports exhibition in Europe).
Get Hench is about helping people be the best at what they do. We spend so much time comparing ourselves to other people that we don’t always take time to look and see what we are great at. The Get Hench brand is about getting you to look and see what you are awesome at. HENCH = Awesome. Everyone has something that they are HENCH at, we are about getting you to see that. We carry this message in the first instance through clothing, but the vision is so much bigger than that. You could say that Get Hench wants to Get Hench.
Martin Luther King Jr, Bill Gates and Steve Jobs – they were ALL game changers. They were simply HENCH!
This is a good question, probably Martin Luther King Jr or Jon Snow from Game of Thrones (I know it’s not a film, but it’s an awesome show).
I was about 16 or 17 and I decided that I was far too skinny, so I joined the local gym at Mile End Stadium. I remember wanting to have massive pecks. So on my first day at the gym I did chest exercises. On my second day, I did chest exercises. On my third day, I started doing chest again and this old guy in the gym called me over, and said “young man, that’s not how you train. This is how you train.” He explained, I listened and the rest, as they say, is history.
Don’t be stubborn in life, don’t overplay your strength to the point where it becomes a weakness. Be flexible, always be willing to learn and continuously improve yourself.
I watch almost any type of sport that comes on TV, I watch films, read, spending time with the family and going to church. Yes, I do a lot of things even when I relax.
I’m going to drink loads more water. I don’t do this enough!
