I was lucky enough to receive Bloom’s Mojito Matcha Green Tea Powder in a competition with Spabreaks.com and I was very excited to try it after whisperings I had heard about the wonders of Matcha.
Being a very busy and tired mummy my cocktail days (or nights) are a distant memory and I also suffer from chronic fatigue so any promise of energy is worth an exploration. Now I am an avid Green Tea fan mainly for it’s health benefits and it has become a very innocent pleasure but upon research it seems that I am only getting involved in half the party here.
Matcha powder is so concentrated and pure that the health benefits skyrocket compared to regular tea due to the concentration in powdered form and I can honestly say that taking this every morning gave me a marked increase in energy. For someone who energy often eludes this was a real plus point. I did not get the anxiety and nervous energy that coffee or tea present after your 15th cup but just felt I could calmly go about my day knowing I had the fuel to power through.
Incidentally, 15 cups is the equivalent of one spoonful of this magic powder and so just imagine the antioxidant power load from one drink! A sense of lightness prevailed, not only in my injection of vigour (take that chronic fatigue) but also in my body, after a month of daily cocktails, (I mixed a spoonful of matcha with an effervescent Vitamin C in water) a few pounds were definitely shed and I felt slimmer. What a bonus!
Can there be a downside? Well, I am not going to lie Matcha to me is not the nicest of tastes out there, I have tried plain Matcha and gagged. However, Bloom’s ingenious Mojito flavouring (you can tell yourself it’s a fabulous cocktail) really does make it more palatable, especially if you also mix it into juice or Vit C for an extra boost.
So, energy a plenty, cancer and age fighting antioxidants and metabolism boosting what’s not to like! I am so fascinated at the recent discovery and investigation into this super concentrated powdered tea that I wonder if we shall now be seeing more ‘purer’ forms of other teas, really extracting every drop of goodness and charging it up.
Perhaps soon brewing tea will be SO over and we will be mixing tea powder in with our afternoon scone! Either way, Bloom is a fantastic discovery and I can’t wait to treat my mind and body to more of their wonder products! Bottoms up!
