Spa soundtrack: working 9 ‘till 5

Our music guru has spoken and she’s got the classics to give the working week a musical lift… you’re welcome…

work

September has rolled around again, in the way it inevitably does every year. This month has always struck a certain fearful nerve in me, probably because it signifies the end of summer and the reclaiming responsibility for my actions.

I finished school almost 10 years ago but still occasionally wake up in a cold sweat, fear in my heart that I haven’t done that bit of Mr Thompson’s homework. I know I’m not alone in this, but even as a grown adult person, a creeping sense of dread fills me come September.

Picture the scene: it’s drizzly, you haven’t got any more holidays lined up except that staycation in a leaky cottage one weekend in November, the work week is taking its toll on you, and you’re more than a little fed up. Sound familiar?

I’ve got the thing to make it right. It has been scientifically proven* that music makes you happy, so the best way to feel top of your work game is by blasting out some tunes. And if Elaine from payroll complains? Get the office in a rousing rendition of 9 to 5. Do Dolly proud.

To that end, I have crafted a little playlist to make you get pumped for work. Beat those Autumnal blues with some dopamine inducing ditties!
