What else would you have on a spa break? Channeling our inner health gurus we loved our smoothies… and not JUST because they were pink.
Champneys is a proper health spa venue – one of the originals. Alcohol is rarely served (it’s not the afternoon tea and champagne kinda place), but that simply makes way for an entirely different kind of enjoyment – the kind that begins with food and drink that tastes good and makes you feel like you can take on the world… or at least the gym anyway.
Why would you not have raincoats in your room… do you think we can wear these in the pool?…
In all seriousness though, Champneys is the kind of spa that provides you with everything you need on your visit – robes, slippers and products are in abundance, and you can stay in your robe for as much of the day as you please… all you need to remember is your swimming cossie.
Literally the best lunch ever! I could eat it all over again…
The beautiful thing about a spa like this is that it proves healthy eating doesn’t need to be a chore. I am bored to tears of being told that i can’t eat bread or I must eat kale – at no point here did I feel like I was compromising taste for healthy eating, and neither did I didn’t feel hungry… it was enjoyable because it tasted good, looked good and felt good. That in my book is a complete triumph!
They’re so pretty!… Getting Ready to relax.
To reiterate my point, all the necessary items for a complete spa experience are readily available at Champneys. Comfy robes and slippers to wear from your room, to your treatments, throughout the spa and even at lunch so that you don’t have to change in the middle of the day are on hand as soon as you arrive. As is our belief, a fluffy white robe is so much more than a piece of clothing – it’s symbolic of everything a spa break should be – comfortable, relaxed and a place where you can be yourself without any worries about dressing up and putting on your ‘armour’.
It felt like we are in Alice and a Wonderland in those beautiful grounds!
Being surrounded by gorgeous gardens feels like a fundamental part of the spa experience. There’s something about wandering around in the peace and quiet that really allows you to reset and regroup so that when you return to the ‘real’ world you feel utterly rejuvenated. I was lucky to have both sunshine and my sister to experience it all with, but whether you’re with your mum, friends, a partner or on your own I can’t recommend a wander around the gardens here enough to help you gather your thoughts and feel utterly blessed to be somewhere so beautiful.
