Just for Today: spa day at Craxton Wood

When Faye and Mandy visited the spa at Craxton Wood following Spabreaks.com’s Just for Today campaign with the The Lily Foundation, this is what they had to say about getting away just for the day…

In short, our spa day was fab and we enjoyed the whole experience. We went to Craxton Wood in Chester which was the nearest spa to where we live, and we would definitely go there again in the future.

When we arrived we were met by attentive staff who made sure we were ok throughout the day, especially as we hadn’t been before and Faye uses a wheelchair. Fortunately, with help, Faye is able to get in and out of the pool without the need for a hoist, so that wasn’t a problem, and when we were shown around the spa the staff also pointed out the best route around for the wheelchair.

Once we were acquainted with our surroundings we had a swim before lunch. We enjoyed the lunch which was from a choice of three things, and then we then had our treatments. I chose a back massage and Faye a facial, both of which were extremely enjoyable. After the treatments we went to the relaxation rooms for a chill before driving home feeling thoroughly relaxed.

We had never been to a spa before, and after this experience we would definitely go again perhaps as a birthday treat. It was a lovely and unexpected surprise to hear that we had been nominated for a spa day, and it makes it more special that the Lily Foundation put us forward for a gift. It made us feel special. Thank you Spabreaks.com
