The first thing you need to know is that this is the place to visit for ultimate peace and quiet. It’s about half an hour on the train from Barcelona in the middle of a Spanish village. It’s remote so it’s not the place for nightlife, but it IS the ideal location for a siesta in the afternoon and catching up on your reading.
The suites are amazing and not a lot more expensive, so remember to upgrade. The one we stayed in was huge and had a Jacuzzi in it to really add to the sense of luxury.
The water in the pool is fresh from subterranean springs, which makes your skin feel wonderful… they do things properly here though, so you do have to wear a swimming hat in the pool.
Best treatments: you take a glass lift down to the treatment rooms where the therapies are wonderful and they pay attention to absolutely everything right down to your fingertips so it really is a treat for the whole body.
The spa has a neo classical theme and lots of pools to dip in and out of. Mosaics line the walls and it feels like being in Caesar’s Palace… minus the Roman gods.
