Spabreaks.com first met Tash as part of the Body Gossip duo, fighting to change peoples perception of themselves and encourage a more positive body image. Today the former model turned writer, teacher and mentor has also founded the Self-Esteem Team, has written multiple books, showed off her impressive scar following emergency surgery last year in national magazines, has become the Government’s first mental health champion and has been awarded an OBE for her work. Watch this space, we have a feeling this lady is going places.
Having first become an honorary member of the Spabreaks.com team after she walked the London Marathon in a robotic suit in 2012, five years after a horse riding accident left her paralysed from the chest down. The walk took her 17 days and since then she has reached new heights challenging herself to physical tests, fundraising for research into spinal injuries and inspiring people around the country as she tells her story. The term ‘superwoman’ doesn’t even cut it, and we can’t wait to see what she does next!
She’s been instrumental in shaping the spa industry thus far, but in 2014 Michelle Hammond became a founding member of the TpoT initiative (The Power of Touch), a not for profit organization aiming to make all spa therapists cancer aware by 2018 and eradicate any concerns about treating clients with cancer. It’s been a long battle for the UK spa industry to reach this point, and Spabreaks.com is proud to be a part of the organization leading the way. Bring it on 2016!
