How often do you take time out to be kind to yourself? Probably not as often as you need or deserve because there never really seems to be quite enough time, does there? Well, offering a dose of empathy and her own tips on how to #bekindtoyou, we chatted to beauty, fashion and lifestyle blogger Lorna Patrick…
1) #bekindtoyou and make time:
I make time for me time and schedule it in to make sure it happens. Whether that’s going to a gig, giving myself a pamper, or just having a glass of wine. It’s essential to make sure I don’t get caught up in work/blog life too much.
2) #bekindtoyou and pamper:
This is such a necessity. Whether you do this at home, or head to a spa or salon, you just have to treat yourself every now and again. If you’re staying at home then light some candles, run yourself a bath with something special and relax! Your body and mind will thank you!
3) #bekindtoyou and exercise:
It makes me feel so much better to exercise. I’m really not an exercise nut, in fact I never thought I’d think of exercise as a positive thing, but since getting into spinning it’s blown my mind. I feel so good about myself when I come out and I love that.
6) #bekindtoyou and spend time with people who make you feel good:
Spending time with people who make you feel good about yourself makes a huge difference to your wellbeing and state of mind. You might have insecurities, everyone does – but don’t spend time with those that point them out and make them feel bigger than they need to be.
7) #bekindtoyou and treat yourself:
I’m a beauty obsessive, so if I want to feel better I’ll treat myself to something new and pretty… how that would fail to make anyone feel better I don’t know. The same works for music, I’ll put something on that I love if I’m not looking to spend extra money, or pick up some new gig tickets to a favourite band of mine.
