On the banks of Dundee’s River Tay, Apex City Quay Hotel is the ultra modern spa and hotel that’s been quietly charming guests in Scotland since it opened in March 2003.
Apex Hotels is a group founded by Norman Springford in 1996. As an independent, family-owned collection of nine contemporary hotels, customer service is at the heart of their business. As such, what sounds like a small chain has a very personal approach.
When it was first built, the Apex City Quay Hotel & Spa was a pivotal development within the ongoing regeneration of the city’s waterfront area. Since then, the company has grown and Springford’s son has taken the main role as Chairman of the brand.
Of course standards continue to be as exacting as they’ve always been, and as a result, this year the hotel’s Yu Spa has been nominated for Spa of the Year for Scotland at the Professional Beauty Awards.
“It’s such an achievement for us to be recognised as finalists as we put so much hard work, care and effort into looking after our clients.” Yu Spa manager Angela McGarva told ScotlandB2B, continuing: “we are delighted to be in the finals and it is such a testament to the team. Hopefully this will get the recognition the team deserve from a wider audience.”
The winner will be announced at a black-tie dinner on 19th September (Monday) 2016 at the Monastery, in the heart of Manchester. They will then progress to the National Beauty Awards to be considered for the title of National Spa of the Year, held in London on 27 February 2017. Watch this space!
