The ritual begins with a series of acupressure points to relax the body and mind. We then massage the back, neck and shoulders using Swedish movements combined with Thai compressions. We pay particular attention to areas that feel tense and tight. We then stretch the legs to help release tension and toxins. After that we work on the front of the body.
The next stage of the treatment is a relaxing facial which includes exfoliation and more massage. We focus on any key areas of concern such as fine lines, dark circles or breakouts to reveal a radiant complexion.
In the final stage, we deeply exfoliate the feet using a macadamia and papaya scrub before nourishing with cooling watermelon and cucumber. We conclude the treatment with more acupressure points and an essential oil inhalation.
Elemental Herbology has developed this treatment especially for Ockenden Manor with inspiration from both western and eastern therapies. Different aspects of the treatment have been used for centuries such as Swedish movements, acupressure points, heat and herbs. Other elements such as stretching have been inspired by Thai massage.
The Elemental Rebalancing Ritual aims to work on a mental, physical and emotional level to balance your energy. It’s important that body and mind work at the same pace to achieve harmony. You might be in a work environment and unable to concentrate or wide awake in bed at night, but this ritual will get mind and body working at the same frequency.
At the beginning of the treatment we carry out a consultation to determine what your needs are. We then use one of five oils to carry out the treatment. If you are feeling fatigued then you may need sweet orange and tangerine to help energise, or if you are stressed then rose damask and ylang ylang will uplift you. We also use Thai poultices which contain a huge variety of spices, herbs and minerals to work deep into the muscles. Finally, we tailor the products used in the facial specifically for your skin type.
Try to not eat or drink directly before or after the treatment. After 20-30 minutes, you should start drinking plenty of water, preferably with lemon, to help release toxins. Always try to follow it with a healthy balanced diet, and a yoga or gentle exercise class the day after the treatment will help you to continue feeling revitalised. We would recommend taking a walk around the Ockenden Manor grounds as well.
It is for anyone who feels stiff, or those who have aches or pains in their joints or muscles. Someone who needs a boost or lift in energy levels would also find the treatment beneficial. It’s recommended for those would like to treat the whole body.
As with many treatments, this ritual is not be suitable for some people or it may need to be adapted. It’s not suitable for pregnant women, and if you’re on chronic medication, have recently had an injury or hip or knee replacements, or have very high or low blood pressure an alternative may be suggested.
