I am a regular afternoon tea goer, and this was honestly the best afternoon tea I have ever had, which is saying something.
Because K West was an old recording studio, they used that as the theme. Old records served as placemats, the menu was on the shape of a record (Blondie, since you asked) tea cups and saucers had a shiny chrome finish (a pink teapot on green saucer in case you wondered); it’s all quirky and completely different.
However good they are, most afternoon teas are pretty much the same, and trying to vary it often ruins it, but K West did it perfectly. First up, it wasn’t just a case of cucumber sandwiches, there were adorable little burgers both meat and halloumi, as well as open sandwiches on rye bread so there’s nowhere near as many carbs as a normal afternoon tea.
Then the desserts. They had little chocolate tea cups filled with cream, swiss rolls (who doesn’t love swiss roll?), lollypops covered in chocolate, apples covered in chocolate, rocky road… it’s like Willy Wonkas chocolate factory, you couldn’t say there was a lack of variety.
The Prosecco is served in what I would almost describe as a martini glass, and they bring different tea leaves to your table to choose from. You smell all the different ones and pick your tea, or bring you one that’s just made for K West. They also sell their signature tea there and it’s the same one they serve in the spa, so it’s a lovely gift to take home.
The glam rock afternoon tea is so unique to K West, and that’s particularly important in London where there’s so much competition. They go all out which makes it perfect for friends, groups and hen parties looking for something different. From the environment to the food, it’s just a beautiful take on the whole afternoon tea experience to really add another dimension to your spa experience.
The Glam Rock Afternoon Tea for Two starts at £59.50 per person including use of facilities.
