Why it works: Pure Gold and Collagen Facial

If there’s one place that knows how to take the spa experience to the next level, it’s The Dorchester. So celebrating the festive season in sparkling style, they told us what their Pure Gold and Collagen Facial is all about…

The Dorchester Spa-Carol Joy London- Pure Gold and Collagen Facial-2324

What exactly is the treatment?

The 60-minute Pure Gold and Collagen Facial begins with a plumping Pure Collagen Mask combined with myofascial lifting and toning massage to sculpt the face, neck and shoulder contours.

The facial is performed with Carol Joy London products containing refined golden millet oil which replenishes the epidermis and leaves skin intensely nourished. 24 carat gold leaf, renowned for its brightening and regenerative properties, is then applied to areas of concern and the delicate eye area for 10 minutes whilst clients are given a soothing acupressure massage.

The gold leaf is then massaged into the skin with gentle, circular movements. The treatment ends with a final spritz of pure collagen spray to maintain skin hydration and provide a youthful glow.

What is it supposed to do?

Ions in the pure 24 carat gold leaf increase the skin’s metabolism by stimulating cells and encouraging skin regeneration. Gold also helps transport oxygen into the skin and locks in skin’s moisture, reducing the breakdown of collagen and elastin, and in turn improving skin’s elasticity and firmness.

The pure collagen spray is clinically proven to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and is described by Carol Joy London as a “facial in a spray.” At the end of the treatment, clients are left with firmer, smoother and more radiant skin. 24 carat gold leaf is renowned for its brightening and regenerative properties.

Is there anything you do to enhance the effectiveness of the treatment?

One of Carol Joy London’s signature techniques, myofascial, is used during the treatment using lifting and toning massage to sculpt the face, neck and shoulder contours.

Is there anything you recommend clients to do pre or post-treatment to get the most out of it?

Results are visible after one treatment but a course of facials is recommended if there are ongoing skin concerns. Products from the Carol Joy London skincare range are available for aftercare.

Is there anyone you particularly recommend the treatment for?

It is best suited to revitalising dull complexions or as a defense against ageing

Is there anyone who shouldn’t have this treatment and why?

People with skin intolerances to gold should avoid this facial!
