Chief amongst the award winners were some of the spa hotels that are so prized at Spabreaks.com, all exhibiting unique assets that make them stand out. The teams at each of these hotels are naturally a fundamental part of that as well. For all the beautiful facilities in the world, it’s not worth all that much without excellent customer service and expertise to go with it, so the awards were also a chance to celebrate the stars of the industry, the individuals who work hard on a daily basis and don’t always get their much-deserved moment in the limelight.
As Abi Wright, Managing Director at Spabreaks.com told the awards: “at Spabreaks.com the focus and the inspiration is always the customer experience. So to be sponsoring the Irish Hotel Awards is wonderful, ensuring the ongoing quality of experience for spa and hotel guests in Ireland.”
Spabreaks.com has enjoyed an increasing relationship with spas in Ireland over recent years, identifying it as a gem in the wellbeing landscape, truly impressed by the scope and quality of the offering. Abi continued: “in the last few years, Spabreaks.com has enjoyed a growing relationship with incredible hotels and spas in Ireland, firmly believing Ireland to be one of the most spectacular places in the world for spa experiences. It’s a pleasure to those venues recognised for their hard work and talent by the awards.”
Amongst the winners were Kilronan Castle Estate for Wedding Hotel of the Year – a well deserved
tribute to a spectacularly beautiful hotel and The Heritage Killenard’s David Hanniffy for Wedding Planner of the Year.
Limerick’s No.1 Pery Square took the title for Boutique Hotel of the Year, and regional winners of the Spa Hotel of the Year award included, once again, Kilronan Castle Estate and The Heritage Killenard, who appeared to be sweeping the board in all areas of hospitality, with Kilronan Castle also taking the award for Castle Hotel of the Year. Congratulations as well to Maryborough Hotel and Spa who were regional winners for Wedding Hotel of the Year, Spa Hotel of the Year and Hotel Restaurant of the Year.
Anyone who has visited Culloden Estate and Spa will not be surprised to hear that they were the overall winner for Luxury Hotel of the Year, and given the beauty of the surrounding area, it was a great joy to see groundskeeper Raymond Edgar from Slieve Donard Estate recognised for his eternally hard work with the award for Groundskeeper of the Year 2017.
Of course, we congratulate all the winners at the awards, and most of all thank the organisers for a wonderful celebration of the best of our industry!
