Our individual niggles, concerns, aches, pains and anxieties as well as the things we enjoy about our health are all unique to us, along with our skin types, nutritional questions and the lifestyles that we have, which impact all of those things.
So it’s very difficult when you go on a spa break or retreat and try to fit yourself into a box that’s based on a majority. For that reason, Lifehouse Spa and Hotel in Essex, whom we have often quoted as offering a unique spa experience in the UK, have created the Your Health, Your Way package.
The package jigsaws different elements of the spa experience whether it’s detox, pampering, weight loss a bit of everything or something else entirely, to tailor make a spa experience for you in a more economical way.
Speaking to Lifehouse’s naturopath, Sue Davis, says: “we were finding people wanted to mix our detox menu and weight loss menu, and we were doing a lot of bespoke spa breaks, so we wanted to offer a variation that’s more affordable. You decide the number of nights, choose the menu from a Detox Cleanse Menu with five juices or smoothies a day and big superfood salads, fruit platters; the Weight Loss Menu with more protein at each meal very much like the Joe Wicks style of eating; or the Lifehouse regular menu, which is still healthy, but you can essentially have whatever you want. Everyone gets lemon and warm water delivered to their room every morning and you get a welcome pack when you arrive and a tour – it’s just a more personalised way of doing the spa experience.”
On the spa break you can add on treatments or personal training if you want, at a discounted rates, and there are packages of holistic treatments you can include such as a combination of reiki, private mediation and flower remedies. On the Your Health, Your Way break, you have free access to fitness classes where regular guests are charged £5 a class, and you can do as many of them as you like, in effect choreographing your own bootcamp.
Lifehouse’s approach is the epitome of what spa trends in 2017 are working towards, moving away from a homogenised spa experience and towards something that can be tailored to you, so that you can make the most of your wellbeing and be in control of your experience but with expert advice on hand. After all, no one knows your body as well as you do!
Lifehouse is not the only spa to do a bespoke experience either. While at any spa today therapists will work to make your experience personal to you, there are a number of health spas across the world that now that take the personalised experience up a notch. Vilalara Longevity Thalassa and Medical Spa in Portugal hinges their spa experiences on a biophysical evaluation that gives you your body’s biological ‘age’ as opposed to its chronological age, while Romania’s Akasha Wellness Retreat is a chance to be at one with nature and even makes the health experience family friendly.
The important thing is, it’s all about you, and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise!
