Romania may not be the first place you would think to go on a health retreat. But perhaps that’s why it’s made its stealthy way into the market and arrived with such an impact. Akasha Wellness Retreat brings you mountain lodge style rooms and an ethos that’s all about enjoying a clean, simple life.
It is inspired by nature, relaxation and spirituality, all of which seem effortless in this naturally magical part of the world. Yoga, hiking and walking are the way to clear mind, body and soul of toxins, and there’s a practical belief that all experiences are interconnected. So it’s not a question of separating your relaxation time and your exercise, it’s about using the whole experience to generally feel on top of the world.
As a result, food is just as important as every other aspect of the experience. The menu is gluten free, dairy free and sugar free, designed to heal, balance hormones and fortify your overall health and wellbeing using organic unprocessed seasonal produce.
Uniquely, for a destination health spa, Akasha Wellness Retreat is not prohibitive for children either. As good habits start young, and this is a place that’s all about taking life in your stride in a beautiful environment, it makes perfect sense that they should invite the whole family to feel happy and well in this charming but non prescriptive place.
As a result, from 3rd-6th June 2017 they are offering a Three Night Kids Retreat Experience for two adults and one child. It includes a daily adult yoga and meditation class (kids over 12 can also join), a daily family yoga class with music and dance for kids and adults together, three daily healthy vegetarian meals which are all organic and locally produced plus healthy treats for the kids, and daily superfood juices and smoothies that are suitable for both children and adults, plus a juice bar for extra fresh juices.
Other activities also include a cinema, creative arts and crafts for parents and children to do together, group nature walks and fun mindfulness games for children, unlimited Jacuzzi and sauna use for parents, and a 30-minute Swedish massage for parents as well. It’s an escape that’s exclusive to Spabreaks.com travellers, and an extra special way to spend happy, healthy quality time with the whole family minus gimmicks, too many digital devices and where everyone can come home feeling rejuvenated.
