Showing once again that a spa break is about more than facials, Whittlebury Hall in Northamptonshire threw a Rock Legend Tribute Night and the Spabreaks.com team (including Spartacus the bear) went along in attendance for a little team bonding and a lot of dancing – preferably with inflatable guitars.
Whittlebury Hall hosts regular tribute nights, and over the years we have always been impressed by the high standards and the atmosphere throughout, making them perfect for nights out with friends, hen parties or team nights out.
“Perfect for nights out with friends, hen parties or team nights out”
On this particular occasion there was a large group of Spabreakers in attendance, and so we arrived in time for a few drinks in the bar before heading straight to the Rock Legend Tribute Night.
The night is held in a large event space, and you sit on massive tables which are beautifully done up with thematic decorations. There’s a three course meal with a set menu – we started with soup, moved on to a chicken dish and dessert was a strawberry tart, although they can cater to dietary requirements if you mention it in advance.
During dessert the music started, with a singer, two dancers and a band doing rock songs from across the ages. The music continued throughout the night and soon everyone was dancing and there was a really good vibe, surrounded by hen parties and girls having fun with friends, and even a few couples on a night out.
As there were 18 of us, we made up quite a party, winning a blow up guitar off the stage, and dancing the night away until around 11pm when the music switched over to a DJ until the wee hours.
“There was a great atmosphere, great staff and great food”
What was particularly lovely about the occasion is that we were a mixed group of men and women, and I don’t think anyone expected to have quite as much fun as we did. There was a great atmosphere, great staff and great food, and while there were definitely more men than women at the occasion, the men were dancing more than the women!
As far as a team bonding experience goes, it was a great chance to relax and integrate with one another – something completely different to your average trip to the pub on a Friday evening, and even better if you follow it up with a morning in Whittlebury Hall’s spa the next day (they have an excellent thermal suite).
There are lots of different tribute nights coming up at Whittlebury Hall with a different event almost every other Friday.
