Every client who’s booked in for a facial experiences the Elemis Skinlab first. You arrive, have a consultation and go to the dedicated skin lab, which is a special camera that takes six images of the skin so therapists can see what’s going on underneath the surface.
The camera shows the hydration level, the pigmentation, the wrinkles, bacteria (spots) and the redness. Lucy Morris, Spa Manager at Ciuin Spa says: “a lot of people will say how they think their skin is but you don’t really know what’s going on underneath. You might be concerned about lines and wrinkles, but underneath it’s more about dehydration, so it’s a fantastic tool and usually people are surprised by the results… hopefully pleasantly!”
Following the test therapists are then able to make more accurate product recommendations for home care and treatments so clients have the most effective therapy. “Everyone gets something from it,” says Lucy, “sometimes it’s a pleasant surprise and sometimes it’s not, but everyone benefits because you only get so much information from the surface of your skin. You get a true picture of what’s going on and we can then put together a plan for how you look after your skin and get the best results. If you’re having biotec facials for example then it’s a fantastic support to make sure you’re tailoring the treatment properly. It’s perfect when people are investing in their skin but don’t want to opt for botox.”
Lucy continues: “we’re the first spa in Ireland to have the Elemis Skinlab, which is fantastic. We were the first spa in Ireland to bring in the biotech facials with Elemis; we have always been forward thinking and this really enhances and takes the customer experience to the next level.”
Facials, and good facials in particular can be expensive experiences, so the Elemis Skinlab helps to make sure you are really making an educated investment in your skincare.
