Spotlight on Boscolo Prague

A palatial hotel and a restored NeoClassical building that was once the Czech Savings and Loan Bank, Boscolo Prague makes a dramatic first impression fit for a romantic winter escape. It’s everything you think of when you imagine a trip to this historic city.

Boscolo

The hotel

Walk into the five star hotel in the city centre and you are met by luxury at every turn. Stuccoed facades, marble and classic motifs adorn the walls in elaborate style, and the rooms and suites echo a decadent past with details including headboards from the early 19th century.

The restaurant

The hotel’s main Salon Restaurant is a seductive environment prizing traditional flavours alongside Italian dishes. The hotel is also home to the Inn Ox Lounge, a beautiful fusion of crystal and steel, where they serve a refined gourmet menu. The epicurean experience is complete with a cigar bar serving cognacs, liquors and prestigious wines in the former bank vault.

The spa

The spa is a cavernous environment underground, making for a seductive space complete with blue mosaic floors in the pool and plenty of space to swim and unwind. There’s a 20-metre pool, hydromassage tubs, a gym, sauna and steam room as well as treatments using the acclaimed [comfort zone] product line. It’s a uniquely extensive spa experience for a city hotel, with ample and decadent amounts of space typified by the offering of morning yoga by the pool.

The location

The hotel’s location in the centre of the Czech capital makes it an idyllic location for exploring the city. Boscolo Prague hosts morning runs through the city which is an idyllic way to get your bearings, particularly if you’re blessed with a crisp sunny morning, and strolling to key attractions such as the Old City, Charles Bridge and the Petrin Gardens is a breeze.

The verdict

Prague has a reputation for being a romantic history, and Boscolo Prague really brings that impression to life. An idyllic spot from which to relax and unwind, it exemplifies the best of what the city is about – beauty, history, romance and elaborate style.

Top tips

– Take up the opportunity to go on a guided morning run from the hotel to get a sense of where you are in the city – particularly if you haven’t been before.
– Take a little time to do yoga by the pool one morning for added feel good factor to your holiday.
– Make sure you stop for coffee and pastries over the Charles Bridge – it’s one of life’s exceptional little pleasures.
