At the end of the renowned Chain Bridge in the awe-inspiring city of Budapest, the Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest is a historic building and a unique Art Nouveau landmark that takes in views of the Danube river and the hills of Buda.

Budapest

The hotel

Luxurious to a fault, the hotel offers guests a number of room types to stay in, ranging from Danube River-View Rooms with step-out balconies, Gresham Rooms featuring one king or two twin beds and Superior Rooms with views of the courtyard. They also have a number of suites – we particularly like the Buda Castle Presidential Suite with its elegant fireplace.

The spa

The exquisite heritage of this hotel is juxtaposed by contemporary fitness and spa facilities. The health club spans the entire top floor of the hotel and has a state of the art gym, a whirlpool, sauna and steam room as well as a 12-metre pool.

The location

The hotel is situated at the end of the renowned Chain Bridge in the awe-inspiring city of Budapest, making it an ideal location for exploring the city as well as proffering superb views of the awe-inspiring River Danube.

The restaurant

The hotel’s restaurant is the KOLLÁZS Brasserie & Bar – a contemporary European brasserie with views of the river and offering everything from breakfast and light bites through to a fine dining evening meal. It is all at once elegant and laid back, and is flanked by The Bar and Lobby Lounge which spills into the Hotel’s historic Páva Udvar (Peacock Passage).

The verdict

Ideal for a romantic getaway, Four Seasons Hotel Gresham Palace Budapest has everything from tantalisingly beautiful historic design to a contemporary and seductive spa experience, to make it an ideal location for a romantic break. Added into that, the hotel offers guests this central location which is perfect for hand holding as you wander around inspiring streets visiting historic sites.

Top tips

  • Book a spa experience including a Signature Hungarian experience complete with a Hungarian Moor Mud Therapy treatment.
  • Take some time to explore the city – since you’re so perfectly located.
  • Enjoy the environment you’re staying in – it’s a historic building and a unique Art Nouveau landmark.
