It’s a contemporary hotel based in County Leith, surrounded by countryside but also only one hour from Dublin and a mere 20 minutes from Kildare shopping village, making it a superb destination for groups of friends looking for quality time together…
With 98 bedrooms the hotel is modern but designed with classic elements, in particular, the furniture. One of the owners had a special interest in art and as a result select pieces are peppered throughout the hotel. There is a variety of rooms, from Deluxe doubles and twins to three types of suite – Junior Suites, Junior Family Suites and Full Suites. They also have family rooms and superior kings which have balconies and views over the golf course.
The Arlington is the hotel’s main restaurant – a fine dining experience where you can dress up for dinner and luxuriate in good food. For visiting groups, the Borough Room is a private dining area just off the restaurant which affords a sense of personal space for parties and celebrations or simple a long overdue get together.
Afternoon tea is extremely popular at the hotel – a seasonally updated menu in classic style, enjoyed in the lobby lounge – a beautiful area that’s just been refurbished complete with its own art collection. Meanwhile, for spa guests there is a separate lunch area in the spa where guests are offered a selection of Bento Boxes which you can tuck into without having to change out of your robe.
The spa is spread over two floors and has 13 treatment rooms, which once again makes it great for groups. The thermal experience (known as the Heritage Spa experience) is a really well thought out treat with a variety of heated rooms on the ground floor close to the gym. Upstairs you will find the lounge area serving spa lunches and refreshments, as well as the treatment rooms and a relaxation area – which is wonderfully tranquil. It is very self contained so you can stay there all day in your robe and slippers, enjoying a full range of treatments from ESPA and VOYA.
Surrounded by countryside, you are greeted by grand gates as you arrive at the hotel, which looks across a golf course (owned separately) to provide a feeling of seclusion. The proximity to Kildare Village adds another level of entertainment groups, and the hotel’s convenient location is summed up by their use the hashtag #meetinthemiddle, embodying the fact that for friends travelling from different parts of Ireland, it’s a great middle point to meet.
