So for World Book Day, here’s our round-up of wellness books you have to read in 2018… including everything from love to PND.

The Sleep Revolution, Arianna Huffington

The Sleep Revolution, Arianna Huffington

Known for her opinions, business acumen and zeitgeist defining vision, Arianna Huffington once again proves her finger is on the pulse of everything we’re thinking of as a collective with her book, The Sleep Revolution. In the book, Huffington shows how a lack of sleep compromises our health and decision-making, and cripples our personal and work lives. She discusses the science behind our dreams while addressing ways to achieve better and more healthful sleeping patterns.

Everything I Know About Love, Dolly Alderton

Not all wellness comes in the form of how you exercise or what you put on your plate. Some of it comes from our relationships. Certainly not intended to be a wellness book, journalist Dolly Alderton released her debut book in February this year, Everything I Know About Love. The writer, perhaps best known for her long running dating column in the Sunday Times Style magazine, delivers a witty documentation of the trials and triumphs of becoming a grown up, falling in love, wrestling with self-sabotage, and finding that that your mates are always there at the end of every messy night out.

The Little Book of Hygge, Meik Wiking

The CEO of the Happiness Research Institute in Copenhagen, Wiking’s Little Book of Hygge covers methods to achieve happiness the Danish way. Hygge covers mindfully selecting foods, effortlessly planning events, and overall living wholesomely. The book is filled with gorgeous photographs and illustrations making it a pleasant read on a Sunday afternoon.

Slow At Work, Aoife McElwain

The way we work has changed. We need new tools to help navigate this world of work - not only to achieve career success, but to stay sane while doing so - and this book can be one of them. Slow at Work is the book that talks about how to work less, achieve more and regain your balance in an always-on world… something we would probably all like to know the answers to!

Breaking Mum and Dad: The Insider’s Guide to Parenting Anxiety, Anna Williamson

Following her first book Breaking Mad, which looked into solutions and coping mechanisms for anxiety, TV presenter and counsellor Anna Williamson’s second book is dedicated to mums and dads everywhere. Written following the traumatic birth of her own son, after which she herself was diagnosed with postnatal anxiety and birth trauma, Breaking Mum and Dad is like having a therapist in your pocket, meaning you don’t have to face one of life’s most momentous experiences alone.
