Becoming a new mum is full of glorious, thrilling, life altering and exhausting surprises, and while time to yourself might seem like something that will never come by again, these are the spa breaks that make the perfect gift for a new mum you love this Mother’s Day…

Rockliffe Hall, County Durham

Set within 375 acres of beautiful countryside, on the banks of the River Tees, Rockliffe Hall has quite a history, acting as a hospital and the backdrop for parts of Michael Caine’s 1971 film Get Carter. The spa is a really special luxury – just what new mums deserve – where the beautiful outdoor area has two hot pools including an infinity pool, a Jacuzzi, and lounging area surrounded by landscaped gardens and spectacular views.

VISIT ROCKLIFFE HALL

The Spa @ Suites Hotel, Merseyside

Standing strong as the only four star hotel in the North West, you are guaranteed a suite when you stay, as that is the only type of room they have. With a range of facilities and treatments on offer, you know you are in good hands at The Spa @ Suites Hotel, as it offers an escape from the world, in the lap of luxury. Yummy mummies rejoice, as the spa offers prenatal treatment for pregnant ladies who need a spot of relaxation.

VISIT THE SPA @ SUITES HOTEL

Champneys Tring, Hertfordshire

Opened as a health spa in 1925, Champneys Tring is set in 170 acres of idyllic Hertfordshire countryside and is accessible in less than 45 minutes on the train from London Euston. The health spa is an adult only destination for anyone age 16 and over, so this is about pure time to yourself for health, wellbeing, and of course a little indulgence.

VISIT CHAMPNEYS TRING

Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre at Hotel Cafe Royal, London

On the corner of London’s luxury triptych between Mayfair, Soho and St James, Hotel Cafe Royal is the historic hotel that has been welcoming guests for 150 years. The Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre is a wonderful fusion of wellbeing and luxury; spacious facilities offer everything from meditation to nutrition, reiki to personal training, and the treatments and therapies offer a unique experience encompassing hydrotherapy and specialist skills.

Eastwell Manor

Eastwell Manor, Kent

Eastwell Manor is the latest addition to the Champneys Spa Hotel collection, but offers a slightly different experience to the rest in that the hotel and spa have separate vibes. The hotel is a luxurious Elizabethan manor house that’s very much about decadence, while the spa is all about health and wellbeing. There are also cottages to stay in in the grounds, so if you are looking to visit with friends, it’s perfect for quality time catching up.

VISIT EASTWELL MANOR

The Belfry, Birmingham

Stylish and tastefully decorated, they blend luxury and comfort along with an acute attention to detail to make you feel at home, while selected rooms have golf views, and either a patio or balcony. At the heart of The Belfry resort, Simply THE Spa is a luxury retreat that sits upstairs above the leisure facilities in The Belfry Club. Simply THE Spa itself is a complete experience in its own right with a relaxation room, chill-out room, 12 treatment rooms, a dual treatment room, and contemporary manicure and pedicure centre.

VISIT THE BELFRY

Lifehouse

Lifehouse Spa and Hotel, Essex

In 12 acres of listed gardens designed by Lord and Lady Byng, who bought nearby manor house Thorpe Hall in 1913, Lifehouse Spa and Hotel is contemporary, light and superbly relaxing. It’s a haven for both luxurious relaxation and real wellbeing, a chance to unwind and address any health issues new mums may have from nutrition to stress.

Ribby Hall Village is a five star holiday village with a four-star, adult only Spa Hotel set within 100 acres of Lancashire countryside. The Spa at The Midland, Manchester

Located in the heart of Manchester’s centre, The Midland has played its part in history, as you’d expect of a building that is over 100 years old. The hotel’s nationally acclaimed restaurant, Adam Reid at The French, marries perfectly the old and new, while the spa follows the mantra of ‘Redefining Relaxation in Manchester’, with four thermal areas in the spa and also four dedicated relaxation areas, you have the choice of three sleep chambers that are ergonomically created for comfort, four hanging cocoons that can fit up to two people at once, two mini relax zones which are ideal for new mums with friends.

VISIT THE SPA AT THE MIDLAND

Bedford Lodge Hotel, Suffolk

Close to Cambridge in the historic town of Newmarket, Bedford Lodge is a four star hotel blending the character of a former Georgian hunting lodge once owned by the Duke of Bedford. In a building adjacent to the hotel is The Spa; a spacious environment including a hydrotherapy pool with five water experiences. The cherry on top of course are the 10 treatment rooms that the spa is home to including a couples’ suite for new mums to have quality time with partners or friends, where therapists use ESPA products.
